If you want to walk from your room to the stores, only one of the hotels near Stonebriar Centre manages it without a car: the Hyatt Regency Frisco-Dallas, which connects to the mall through an indoor breezeway. The rest sit a few minutes’ drive away along SH 121 and Preston Road, and several of them usually cost less.

This guide is for shoppers, families with KidZania or an IMAX night on the list, and business travelers working the Legacy corridor who would rather sleep on the Frisco side. One caveat matters more than any amenity: “near” here means near by car. SH 121 and Preston Road are wide, fast and unfriendly to anyone on foot, so a hotel half a mile away is still a drive. If you’re still choosing a part of town, our guide to where to stay in Frisco compares every hotel district. Checked September 26, 2026.

Question Short answer
Cost Suite hotels with free breakfast sit in the lowest band; the Hyatt Regency and the Westin sit at the top.
Time needed Two or three nights covers the mall, KidZania, a movie and an evening at The Star or Legacy West
Best for Shoppers, families with kids aged 4 to 14, and business trips to the Legacy corridor
Book ahead Several weeks out for December weekends, spring break and big event weekends; a week or two is usually enough otherwise

Which hotels are actually closest to Stonebriar Centre?

Stonebriar Centre sits at 2601 Preston Road, just north of SH 121 (the Sam Rayburn Tollway), on the Collin County side of Frisco where the city meets Plano. It’s the southern anchor of town. The Star is 10 to 15 minutes north by car, Legacy West is five to ten minutes south over the Plano line, and Frisco Square and Toyota Stadium are more like 15 to 20 minutes up the Tollway.

The hotels around the mall fall into three rings. One is attached. A handful more line the SH 121 corridor within a few minutes’ drive, two of them with Plano addresses. And one is a full golf resort a short drive away.

Hotel City Type Getting to the mall Best for
Hyatt Regency Frisco-Dallas Frisco Full-service Indoor breezeway Families, holiday shoppers, no car
Westin Dallas Stonebriar Golf Resort & Spa Frisco Resort 5 to 10 minutes by car Spa, pool and golf trips
Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel Frisco Full-service Under 10 minutes by car Business travelers, couples
Home2 Suites by Hilton Dallas-Frisco Frisco Extended-stay suites Under 10 minutes by car Families on a budget, long stays
Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park Plano Full-service 5 to 10 minutes by car Legacy West evenings, meetings
Homewood Suites by Hilton Dallas-Frisco Frisco Extended-stay suites Under 10 minutes by car Week-long stays
Hampton Inn & Suites Legacy Park-Frisco Frisco Select-service Under 10 minutes by car Splitting time with The Star

Hotels near Stonebriar Centre, ranked for a mall-focused trip

This ranking weighs three things: how easily you reach the mall, what’s included in the rate, and how much the hotel itself adds to the trip.

1. Hyatt Regency Frisco-Dallas

The Hyatt Regency sits at 2615 Preston Road, and its selling point is simple: an indoor breezeway links it to Stonebriar Centre, so the whole mall works like an extension of the lobby. KidZania, on the mall’s second floor between Dillard’s and the food court, becomes a walk rather than a parking hunt. So does the AMC Stonebriar 24, which lists IMAX with Laser and Dolby Cinema screens as of September 2026, along with Dave & Buster’s and the food court.

Rooftop hotel pool at dusk with lounge seating along the deck
A rooftop pool at dusk. The Hyatt Regency is the mall-side hotel that lists one.

The real payoff shows up at the edges of the day. You can drop shopping bags in the room at 3 p.m., put a toddler down for a nap, and head back for dinner without touching the car. In July and August, when crossing any parking lot in the afternoon feels like a punishment, that matters more than thread count. Hyatt also lists a rooftop pool for the end of the day.

The trade-off is price. You’re paying for the connection, and on a quiet weeknight a Hilton suite hotel a few minutes away will often cost less and include breakfast. One practical tip: ask at check-in how late the breezeway stays open, because mall hours and the late movie crowd don’t always line up.

Verdict: The first choice for families with young kids, December shoppers and anyone traveling without a car. If you’ll drive everywhere anyway, the premium buys you less.

2. The Westin Dallas Stonebriar Golf Resort & Spa

The Westin is the resort option, set on 400 acres beside the Fazio-designed course at Stonebriar Country Club, a short drive from the mall. Marriott lists the Well & Being Spa, a WestinWORKOUT studio, an activity lawn and the Westin Family Kids Club, plus a pool area with cabanas, a waterslide, a splash pad and poolside dining.

Flagstick on a striped putting green framed by tall evergreen trees
Parkland golf with mature trees, the setting the Westin sells alongside its spa.

There’s also a Topgolf Swing Suite inside the resort, with golf, baseball and hockey simulators, clubs provided and food from the resort’s Beans & Barrel restaurant. It’s a handy plan for a rainy evening with a group, or a team outing on a work trip.

Golfers should read the fine print. Stonebriar Country Club is a club course, so ask the hotel how guest tee times work before you pack clubs. If golf is the whole point of the trip, the Omni PGA Frisco Resort in north Frisco is built around its own championship courses. Outdoor pool hours usually shrink after summer, so check the schedule for a fall or winter stay.

Verdict: Book it when the grounds, spa and pool are part of the plan. If you only need a bed between mall runs, you’re paying for acreage you won’t use. Our roundup of upscale hotels in Frisco sets it against the city’s other premium stays.

3. Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel

The Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel is at 5444 State Highway 121, in the Stonebriar Commons area. Marriott describes an outdoor pool, a fitness center and an on-site restaurant called Emerson, and pitches the location for quick runs to Legacy West and The Star.

It’s the practical full-service pick: a restaurant and bar downstairs, Marriott Bonvoy points, and a highway address that keeps the morning drive to Legacy-area offices short.

Verdict: A strong choice for business travelers and couples who drive anyway and want full service without paying the Hyatt’s mall premium.

4. Home2 Suites by Hilton Dallas-Frisco

Hilton places the Home2 Suites off SH 121 near the Dallas North Tollway and calls it adjacent to Stonebriar Centre. Treat that as a quick drive rather than a stroll. Daily hot breakfast and Wi-Fi are included, and because Home2 is Hilton’s extended-stay brand, the suites are set up for simple cooking.

Hotel breakfast table with cereal jars, juice carafes and cut fruit
Included breakfast is the quiet money-saver at the suite hotels near the mall.

For a family of four, free breakfast plus a kitchen can take a real bite out of the food budget, and a suite layout gives parents somewhere to sit after the kids are asleep. It won’t feel like a special-occasion hotel. It isn’t trying to.

Verdict: The value pick for families and for stays of four nights or more. Skip it only if you need a restaurant and bar under the same roof.

5. Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park

Just over the city line in Plano, the Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park is a full-service Hilton beside The Boardwalk at Granite Park’s restaurants. Hilton says Stonebriar Centre, The Shops at Legacy and Riders Field, home of the Frisco RoughRiders, are all within about a mile, with The Star two miles away and Toyota Stadium six.

Those distances are Hilton’s; in traffic, give yourself five to ten minutes to the mall. The appeal here is the evening. You’re set up for dinner at Legacy West or on The Boardwalk rather than another round at the food court, and the location is a natural base for meetings in the Legacy corridor.

Verdict: Pick it if your days belong to the mall and your nights to Plano’s restaurant districts.

6. Homewood Suites by Hilton Dallas-Frisco

Hilton describes the Homewood Suites as about two miles from the Dallas North Tollway, with complimentary breakfast and Stonebriar Mall nearby. Homewood is Hilton’s other longer-stay brand, with suites built around full kitchens, which suits a relocation scouting trip or a family that needs more room than a standard hotel gives.

Verdict: Choose it for a week-long stay. Compare its weekly total against the Home2’s before you commit, because the cheaper of the two changes with the dates.

7. Hampton Inn & Suites Legacy Park-Frisco

Hampton Inn & Suites Legacy Park-Frisco sits about two miles from the Ford Center at The Star, according to Hilton, with free hot breakfast and Wi-Fi. That puts it between the two districts rather than beside either one, which helps when your trip splits evenly between shopping days and a Cowboys tour. Our list of cheaper Frisco hotels under $100 tracks when it drops into the lowest tier.

Verdict: A sensible middle ground for a two-base trip. If the mall is the entire point, stay closer.

8. Sandman Signature Plano-Frisco

The Sandman Signature Plano-Frisco, at 8451 Parkwood Boulevard in Plano, sits right on the Frisco line about five minutes by car from the mall. Keep it on your list for sold-out weekends, when the Frisco-side hotels fill with tournament teams and event crowds.

Verdict: A useful fallback. Read recent reviews for noise and room condition before you book.

If everything above is full, widen the circle rather than overpaying for the last room in town. The Embassy Suites by Hilton Dallas Frisco Hotel & Convention Center is another short drive away, and our guide to staying near The Star covers the hotel cluster 10 to 15 minutes north.

Is it worth paying more to be connected to the mall?

For some trips, yes, and the math isn’t only about the room rate.

The mall-connected room earns its premium in three situations. First, young kids: KidZania sessions, naps and a stroller all go better when the room is a few minutes of indoor walking away. Second, weather. North Texas summers stay hot for months, and spring storms roll in fast, so going indoors to indoors takes both off the table. Third, December. On the weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas the garages fill up and the SH 121 exits back up, and a hotel you can walk from sidesteps all of it.

It earns much less when you have a car and a full itinerary elsewhere. If you’re at The Star one day and PGA Frisco the next, and only at the mall for a movie, you’ll be driving past the premium you paid for.

Your trip Best fit
Kids under 10, mall several times a day Hyatt Regency Frisco-Dallas
Holiday shopping weekend Hyatt Regency, booked early
Car, mixed itinerary, budget matters Home2 Suites or Hampton Inn Legacy Park
Spa, pool and a slower pace Westin Dallas Stonebriar
Work in the Legacy corridor Sheraton Stonebriar or Hilton Granite Park

Verdict: Pay for the Hyatt if you’d visit the mall more than once a day or you’re traveling with kids under 10. Otherwise a suite hotel on SH 121 with breakfast included is the better-value call.

Stonebriar or The Star: which base suits your trip?

Most first-time visitors weigh these two areas, and they suit different trips. The Star is the Dallas Cowboys’ headquarters campus, with the Ford Center, restaurants and a plaza you can actually stroll, anchored by the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star. Stonebriar is indoors, weatherproof and practical.

The Star district in Frisco at sunset, with office towers and a water tower beyond
The Star, 10 to 15 minutes north of the mall, is the other hotel base worth weighing.
Stonebriar Centre area The Star
Main draw 165-plus stores, KidZania, AMC IMAX and Dolby Cinema Cowboys HQ, Ford Center events, plaza dining
Walkable from your hotel Only from the Hyatt Regency Around the district from the Omni and hotels nearby
Evenings Movies, Dave & Buster’s, Legacy West 5 to 10 minutes away Restaurants and bars on the plaza
Heat and rain Indoors Mostly outdoors
Best for Families, shoppers, Legacy-area work Cowboys fans, couples, Ford Center events

The drive between them is 10 to 15 minutes up the Tollway, so you don’t have to choose perfectly. Base yourself where you’ll spend the most waking hours and drive to the other. Planning around a Cowboys event or a concert at the Ford Center? Stay at The Star. Planning around KidZania and a birthday list? Stay here.

What’s there to do near the hotels besides shop?

More than the word “mall” suggests. Our Stonebriar Centre shopping guide covers the stores, parking garages and holiday calendar in detail.

  • Movies: the AMC’s premium screens make an easy evening, and the Frisco movie theaters guide compares them with the city’s dine-in options.
  • Games: Dave & Buster’s runs an arcade, sports bar and restaurant inside the mall.
  • Rainy-day extras: an ice rink, an indoor carousel and Back in Time, an escape room themed around agents traveling through history.
  • Dinner out: Legacy West and The Boardwalk at Granite Park, both in Plano, are five to ten minutes south.
  • Baseball: Riders Field hosts RoughRiders games in spring and summer, a few minutes’ drive from the mall.

For the bigger picture beyond this corner of town, our rundown of Frisco’s top attractions and the Frisco shopping guide cover the rest of the city.

Staying near Stonebriar with kids

Stonebriar is one of the easiest places in Frisco to keep kids busy without much of a plan. KidZania, the role-play city for ages 4 to 14 with more than 50 real-life scenarios, is right inside the mall, and the AMC, the arcade and the carousel fill the gaps between sessions.

Hotel suite living area with a sectional sofa and floor-to-ceiling windows
A separate sitting area matters more than a fancy lobby when kids go to bed early.

A few rules make the hotel side easier:

  • Book a suite if bedtime comes before 9. A separate sitting area is worth more than a nicer lobby.
  • Flip the day in summer. Do outdoor things in the morning and the mall in the afternoon heat, then swim after dinner.

If a hotel pool is the main event for your kids, or you’re bringing the dog, we’re publishing dedicated guides to Frisco hotels with pools and pet-friendly hotels soon. For a full itinerary beyond the mall, our Frisco family vacation guide maps out parks, museums and rainy-day backups.

Business trips and events near the mall

Stonebriar makes a smart base for work because it sits right at the city line. The Legacy corridor’s corporate campuses are across SH 121 in Plano, and the Sheraton, the Hilton Granite Park and the Home2 Suites put you minutes from them without a Dallas commute.

Modern hotel room with a desk, armchair and wall-mounted TV beside the bed
Work trips along SH 121 mostly need a desk, reliable Wi-Fi and a short commute.

For meetings and events, both the Hyatt Regency and the Westin have conference space. Our list of corporate event venues in Frisco compares meeting space around the city, and couples planning a rehearsal dinner or a room block can start with Frisco weddings and special events.

One candid tip for work travelers: weeknight rates near a corporate corridor can run higher than weekends, which is the reverse of many leisure towns, so price both before you fix your dates.

What drives the price of a room near Stonebriar?

We don’t quote nightly rates here, because they swing too much by date to be useful. What we can tell you is what moves them.

Tier Hotels near the mall What you get What pushes the price up
Suite and select-service Home2 Suites, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn Legacy Park Free breakfast and Wi-Fi, kitchens in the suite brands Youth tournaments, graduation weekends, holiday season
Full-service Sheraton Stonebriar, Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park Restaurant and bar, pool, meeting rooms Midweek business demand, conferences
Premium location or resort Hyatt Regency Frisco-Dallas, Westin Dallas Stonebriar Mall connection or resort grounds, spa, bigger pool areas December weekends, summer resort season, big events

A few patterns hold most of the year. Frisco’s event calendar drives weekends: Cowboys events at The Star, FC Dallas matches at Toyota Stadium, RoughRiders games at Riders Field and a steady run of youth tournaments can fill the whole city at once. Weeknights near the Legacy corridor follow business demand instead. From mid-November through December, the mall’s own pull adds another layer.

Taxes add a real percentage too, since state and local hotel taxes stack on top of the rate. Compare the final total, including any parking or destination fee, rather than the number on the first search screen.

Ways to spend less:

  1. Book direct with Hilton, Marriott or Hyatt if you’re a loyalty member. Member rates and perks like late checkout often beat third-party sites.
  2. For five nights or more, ask the suite hotels about extended-stay rates.
  3. Groups of four or more on longer stays should price a rental too. Our guide to Frisco vacation rentals explains when a house beats two hotel rooms.

Planning your stay: getting there, parking and timing

Getting there

From DFW Airport, the drive to Stonebriar usually takes 25 to 40 minutes, mostly on SH 121. From Dallas Love Field, take the Dallas North Tollway north and plan on 30 to 45 minutes, longer at rush hour. Both routes use toll roads, so check how your rental company bills tolls before you leave the lot; pay-by-mail costs more than a TollTag.

The Dallas North Tollway is the direct run north from Dallas and Love Field.

Rail isn’t a practical airport link from here yet. DART’s Silver Line, which opened in October 2025, runs to DFW Airport’s Terminal B, but its stations are across Plano rather than near the mall, so a car or rideshare is quicker for most visitors.

Parking and getting around

Stonebriar’s lots and garages are free. At the hotels, self-parking policies vary, and the full-service properties are where you’re most likely to see a charge, so ask when you book.

Uber and Lyft cover the area well. Frisco’s GoZone on-demand service runs weekdays only, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., within a set zone, so check its map before counting on it. For evenings and weekends, rideshare is the realistic choice.

Timing

Weekday mornings are the calmest time at the mall. December weekends are the busiest stretch of the year, with holiday events and longer hours pulling in shoppers from across North Texas. For the best mix of room availability and comfortable weather, aim for October to early November or March to May, then check the event calendar before you book.

What to book and what to skip

  • Book early: December weekend rooms, and any stay that lines up with a big event at The Star or Toyota Stadium.
  • Book ahead: KidZania tickets and IMAX or Dolby seats on opening weekends.
  • Skip: the resort if you’ll barely use the grounds, and the mall premium if you’ll drive everywhere anyway.

Frequently asked questions about hotels near Stonebriar Centre

Which hotel is connected to Stonebriar Centre?

The Hyatt Regency Frisco-Dallas, at 2615 Preston Road, is the hotel attached to Stonebriar Centre. Hyatt describes an indoor breezeway into the mall, so you can reach KidZania, the AMC and the stores without stepping outside. Every other hotel nearby is a short drive rather than a walk.

Can you walk to Stonebriar Centre from the other nearby hotels?

Some are close on a map, but it isn’t a walk worth planning. SH 121 and Preston Road are wide, fast roads with long crossings and busy frontage lanes, and summer heat makes it worse. Drive or take a rideshare, then park free in the mall’s lots and garages. If walking matters to your trip, book the Hyatt Regency.

How far is Stonebriar Centre from DFW Airport?

Plan on 25 to 40 minutes by car from DFW Airport, mostly on SH 121, depending on traffic and time of day. From Dallas Love Field it’s usually 30 to 45 minutes via the Dallas North Tollway. Both routes include tolls, so check your rental company’s toll policy before you drive off the lot.

Are the hotels near Stonebriar Centre in Frisco or Plano?

Both. The mall is in Frisco, just north of SH 121, close to where Frisco meets Plano. The Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park and the Sandman Signature have Plano addresses, while the others in this guide are in Frisco. For visitors the difference is small, since every one of them is a few minutes’ drive from the mall entrances.

Is Stonebriar a good base for The Star and Cowboys events?

It works, but it isn’t ideal. The Star is 10 to 15 minutes north by car, so you’ll drive to every game-day event or stadium tour. If a Cowboys event is the main reason for your trip, stay at The Star. If it’s one stop among several, Stonebriar’s easy mall access and wider range of hotels make a fair trade.

Which hotels near Stonebriar Centre include breakfast?

Hilton’s suite and select-service hotels near the mall list free breakfast: the Home2 Suites and the Hampton Inn & Suites Legacy Park-Frisco include hot breakfast, and the Homewood Suites includes breakfast too. The full-service hotels, including the Hyatt Regency, the Westin and the Sheraton, have restaurants on site, so breakfast is usually extra unless your rate includes it.

Is parking free at Stonebriar Centre?

Yes, the mall’s surface lots and garages are free. Hotel parking is a separate question: policies vary by property, and the full-service hotels are the likeliest to charge. If you stay at the Hyatt Regency, you may not need to move the car at all once you arrive, since the mall is through the breezeway.

When should I book a hotel near Stonebriar Centre?

Book several weeks ahead for December weekends, spring break, big tournament weekends and major events at The Star or Toyota Stadium, when rooms across Frisco fill at once. For ordinary dates, a week or two is usually enough. Check the event calendar before choosing dates, and compare weekday and weekend totals, since business demand shifts prices midweek.

Final thoughts

For most mall-centered trips, the choice comes down to two questions: will you walk to the mall more than once a day, and do you want breakfast included? A yes to the first points to the Hyatt Regency, and a yes to the second points to the Hilton suite hotels along SH 121. The Westin is the pick when the resort itself is part of the plan. If you’re still weighing districts, our full Frisco hotel and accommodation guide sets Stonebriar against The Star, PGA Frisco and the Toyota Stadium corridor.
